Miami Music Week is a 10 day spectacle that is any EDM fan’s dream. It is comprised of the prestigious Winter Music Conference and Ultra Music Festival. This year, Miami party-goers were in for a real treat. Fans gathered near the Fontainebleau Hotel for a friendly soccer exhibition sponsored by (RED) the global AIDS charity. (RED) is known for its high profile partnerships and they thought it would be interesting to host a charity soccer event between the Dutch and the Swedes - the catch is that the players participating would be 14 EDM artists.
Both teams featured an all star DJ line-up. Team Netherlands was led by team captain Tiƫsto with team members: Afrojack, Nicky Romero, Quintino, Sidney Samson, R3HAB, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. While the Swedish Team had Sebastian Ingrosso as their team leader with his teammates: Alesso, Adrian Lux, Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom of Dada Life, AN21, and Otto Knows.
Both teams wore special jerseys that were made exclusively for this charity DJ soccer match. All the jerseys were signed by all participating artists and auctioned off by (RED). All of the proceeds will help contribute with the fight against AIDS in Africa.
The final score was :
Netherlands - 12 Sweden - 10
