The electronic dance music scene took a giant hit today with the resignation announcement of one very legendary and influential DJ: Danny Tenaglia.

Just last week we were raving to you about how amazing it is that Tenaglia has been able to stay on top of his game for the past 30+ years. It came to us as a shock when we heard of the news today that Tenaglia has decided it’s time to hang up the headphones and call it quits—for now at least.

Tenaglia was an influence to many of today’s top DJs in the scene, even some whose styles are far different from Tenaglia’s. Markus Schulz, a longtime vocal supporter of Tenaglia and the influence he’s had on his career, called today a “very sad day in our industry.” We wish Tenaglia all the best in his time away from his DJ career, and we hope to one day see him back on the decks entertaining the masses!
