Come this Friday, the reverential Anjunabeats will take part in helping awaken the rhythmic heartbeat of downtown Los Angeles. Jaytech and Norin & Rad are the pacemakers for this week’s installment of Awakening.

James Cayzer, aka Jaytech, is a long-standing member of the Anjuna family. The Australian born prodigy, classically trained as a pianist, started dabbling in music production at 14. After only two years, he had already offered a crash course in “The emerging Jaytech sound” that came in the form of his debut release entitled ‘Music 101.’ Jaytech has since become the leading rep of Anjunadeep (the sub-label of Anjunabeats), with his album ‘Everything Is Ok’ (2008) featured as the label’s first full artist album release. Jaytech’s music embodies the deeper, melodious expanse of the trusted Anjuna brand. Previously considered as the go-to “warm-up act” for Above & Beyond, Jaytech now stands in his own right as a full fledged Anjuna headliner.

Above & Beyond have the upmost respect for the Southern California based duo Norin & Rad, comprised of Bruce Karlsson and Nick Sember, regarding them as the “Breakthrough DJs/Producers of 2011.” Although coming from two vastly different backgrounds - Bruce being the computer wiz-kid while Nick was more of the rock ‘n’ roll type (playing guitar, bass, drums and keyboard) - N&R share a common drive in creating the next generation of trance. Norin and Rad have almost effortlessly fulfilled the prophetic label bestowed upon them by the Anjuna founders, and they won’t stop until they reach the very top.

Jaytech and Norin & Rad are set to revitalize the pulse of our beloved city with an intimate ‘Anjunabeats Night Session’ at Awakening - Insomniac’s weekly trance and progressive experience - with support from Audien.
