Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade, the name Cosmic Gate should ring a bell to you. With seven artist albums and compilations, twenty eight singles, forty eight remixes, and over a thousand international gigs, the German duo Cosmic Gate is one of the most respected groups in trance music today. What started as an encounter between Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (DJ Bossi) in a record label office in 1999 became one of the most successful partnerships in EDM, leaving millions of party-goers worldwide far beyond satisfied.

At the start of 2011, the release of “Back 2 The Future” compilation included remixes from some of the hottest producers in trance music, such as Markus Schulz, and Jochen Miller, and landed Cosmic Gate a spot on Beatport’s top 10 for an unprecedented three-month period. Their new album “Wake Your Mind” was released late October 2011 and has been buzzing around the EDM scene ever since. “Wake Your Mind is our collective call-out to the EDM universe. Cosmic Gate has released the music video for “Flying Blind’ featuring female vocalist Jes. Flying Blind is the third single taken from their fifth studio album entitled ‘Wake Your Mind.’ The video was filmed in and around Las Vegas, with shots from Vegas’ most prestigious hangouts including Marquee, TAO, and LAVO.

The video tells of an all too familiar story, showing us the aftermath of a break up between two lovers. Suffering from a recent fall out, Jes is stuck sleeping in her ex boyfriend’s car. Come sunrise, the heat of the desert sun abruptly awakens her from her slumber. Fleeing from the rigors of her previous relationship, it is time for her to continue on her journey towards the horizon. As the distance between them grows, the more they become haunted by each others’ memory. Dwelling in the past, the two have become stuck in a lover’s limbo. No matter where they go, they are unable to escape each other’s presence. As the video comes to an end, our lovers are seen meeting each other in a hotel elevator. But is it really them, or is it merely just a manifestation of their memories?
