Notes Insomniac’s On Cue DJ CompetitionTweet
The third annual Nocturnal Wonderland Texas will be another spectacular experience with thousands of beautiful people and over 40 DJs blasting bass in the woods of Apache Pass. This year you can be a part of the magic by performing at the festival. Just submit a 30-minute DJ mix on Mixcloud and tag it “Insomniac’s On Cue DJ Competition”. Two lucky winners will get opening time slots at Nocturnal Wonderland Texas. (One winner will play on Friday and the other on Saturday.) If you win, you’ll receive the full artist treatment, meaning you’ll be flown in to Austin and driven to the venue with your name on the line-up and your DJ mix promoted on all of Nocturnal Wonderland’s social media outlets!
How to Enter:
Your mix should reflect the ethos of Insomniac, and contain the type of tracks that you would play at an opening set at this year’s Nocturnal Wonderland…
- Upload a mix of no more than 30 minutes to Mixcloud
- Title the mix Insomniac’s On Cue DJ Competition
- Tag your mix Insomniac’s On Cue DJ Competition. If you fail to tag it correctly, your mix may be missed
- Include the competition cover-art, found here
Judging:
- Entrants will be judged on factors including (but not limited to) number of plays, favorites, positive feedback, track selection, originality and technical ability
- Mixes must gain over 100 plays be considered for the shortlist. We are looking for DJs who show commitment.
- Entrants will be encouraged to show an ability to promote themselves by the tools available through Mixcloud and other social media platforms.
- The final decision will be made by Insomniac and Mixcloud.
Prizes:
- 60 minute DJ set at Nocturnal Wonderland 2012
- Backstage passes for you and a friend
- Round trip flights (domestic only) for the DJ and overnight accommodation in Austin
- Insomniac gift bag
