Have you ever suffered from a case of the Mondays? Well, we most certainly have been there before. And Alex M.O.R.P.H. shows us just how bad it can get with his music video for ‘Monday Morning Madness.’ Alex is shown frantically roaming through the city streets, on a day where nothing seems to play out in his favor. It’s just one of those days, when you just can’t seem to catch a break.
After he awed broadcast television with his acoustic performance of ‘Clarity’ feat Foxes on the Late Show with David Letterman, Zedd follows up with a stunning visual for his hit single. The video, which features a lead role by Foxes, depicts the collision of two star-crossed lovers. As both souls repeatedly crash into one another, they are flung in opposing directions (resembling the break-up/make-up patterns seen in fickle relationships). As this destructive cycle continues, it begs the question: can lovers ever change their stars?
If you have ever felt like you’ve reached a very important crossroads in your lifetime, then Avicii and Nicky Romero’s ‘I Could Be The One’ music video is meant just for you! It follows a middle-aged, full-figured woman who has grown tired of her nine-to-five routine. It’s as though she is living out someone else’s mundane cubicle-based existence. That is, until she stumbles upon the realization that she could be the one to change it all by relocating to her own paradise in Barbados. However, it seems like no one has ever told her that crossing the road can sometimes be dangerous
Markus Schulz has released a compelling visual for ‘Nothing Without Me’ feat. vocalist Ana Diaz. The video, which claims to be based on true events (although we do not have a back story), is a tribute to stalkers. It screams bloody desire as it follows an overzealous Schulz fan whose infatuation has developed into a deranged obsession. The woman’s fatal attraction sees her lurking in the shadows, following Markus’ every move. But soon enough she receives the care and attention that she truly deserves.
Australian producer, tyDi, takes our breath away with his unifying track ‘Glow In The Dark’ feat. female vocalist Kerli. The “You Are Not Alone” theme seems to carry over beautifully into the visual, sending out a clear-cut statement: bullying will not be tolerated. The black and white video pushes forth anti-hate sentiments as it depicts the underserving persecution of helpless individuals in an everyday setting. It’s only when compassion intervenes, that these tormented individuals begin to find their true color (glow). As each afflicted soul finds solace, they begin to pay it forward and spread humanity (the glow) around the world.
Swedish producer, Otto Knows, has released the official music video for his captivating track ‘Million Voices.’ The video mirrors the track’s unifying melody as it follows a group of adolescents who stumble upon fragments of a colorful, reflective material of unknown origins. At night, the band of friends rendezvous in the woods where more of the mysterious, foreign material lay clustered on the ground. They come to find that when shining their flashlights directly on its surface, a strange phenomenon occurs. An astonishing glow fills the sky similar to eye-catching vision of the Northern Lights.
Above & Beyond plucks at the sentimental strings of the heart with their visual for ‘Alchemy,’ featuring songstress Zoë Johnston. The music video is “an honest, raw expression of betrayal” as it follows the heartache of a woman who catches her unfaithful lover red-headed in the act of cheating. It is an extremely powerful delivery, captured in slow-motion, encapsulating the wretched feeling of being double-crossed by a loved one.
Swedish dub house duo, Cazzette, have transmitted the visual for their new single ‘Beam Me Up,’ taken from their debut artist album ‘EJECT Pt. 1.’ The video depicts the arrival of a mysterious alien species who make contact with the human civilization. They hover over the city in cassette-like spacecrafts and emit a rhythmic signal that creates a dancing epidemic. Mesmerized by the beat, they follow the UFOs to Cazzette’s performance at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas.
Dash Berlin reminds us why he is considered the “king of vocal trance” with his latest single ‘When You Were Around’ feat. Kate Walsh. The track is emotive as always (what we have come to expect from a Dash production, at least) and the visual seems to follow its sentimental appeal.
The music video gives us so many feels, as it follows the coping process of a young woman suffering from a severe breakup. She ameliorates her heartache by bidding farewell to their shared memores. We see her leaving behind polaroid pictures taken during their relationship at the same spots they were originally captured. Each image contains its own unique optimistic message like “sometimes the wrong choices bring us to the right places” and “heartbreak makes you wiser, so thank the past for a better future.” She continues to spread the photos like scattered ashes of a fallen loved one, left behind like a trail of breadcrumbs. But the last photo, is one she decides to keep. It reads: “thank you for the memories.”
Alex Kenji and Richard Dinsdale have come together to give us an astronomical track entitled ‘Stars In The Sky’ feat. Kandace Ferrel. The music video reminds us to keep our eyes to the sky, even in the face of adversity. The story tells of a young aspiring astronaut with an extraordinary fascination with space exploration. But along the way of chasing down his dreams, he becomes antagonized by a pair of bullies. However his perseverance goes along way, blasting his intimidators into oblivion.
